My Next Genre

As a self proclaimed and mostly self taught artist I’ve had to define what art really means to me. Not putting a series of similarly styled pieces in a gallery nor finding some niche and perfecting it but the creation of new genres and new styles. When I find the new genre I’ll make few pieces and stop there. Too many artists mimic and derive from the greats, too many artist find a niche and beat it to death (AI will do that for you now). I don’t want to sound like I am hating on this, there is a catharsis and patience to making pieces that has nothing todo with being unique. There is beauty in the mystery of tangible materials full of texture and imperfection that will never be replaced by pixels. For me right now, the challenge lies more in the exploration of new mediums to play with.

With AI code writing applications on the rise, comedy tech is about to eat professionalism.
