Things We Find in The Dark
It’s blue,
right there,
layered with kindergarten sunflowers and the smell of playground woodchips.
Why do these lunchbox days hurt? We can’t talk about the pains of growing up. Just listen. You were just a child, receiving more hits than you could ever receive now.
Blue.
You couldn’t defend yourself. Kids try, though, make things worse. It still hurts.
Even though you’re safe now, you dream about it, neglect, and all its orbitals.
